CAPASSO Proposal

"Beats Beyond the Stage" – Production Music for Film, TV & Digital Media

🎯 Objective

Train 20 emerging producers in sync licensing and production music.

📅 Duration

10-week intensive workshop series starting September 2026.

📍 Location

Meadowlands, Soweto – community-based and accessible.

💰 Budget

R125,000 total – R8,333 per participant.

Project Summary

"Beats Beyond the Stage" is a 10-week intensive educational programme designed to train 20 emerging music producers in the specialized art of production music—creating background instrumentals for film, television, commercials, gaming, and digital media.


Curriculum Highlights:

  • Introduction to the sync licensing market
  • Beat-making and arrangement for background music
  • Sound design and mixing for broadcast standards
  • The business of sync licensing and pitching
  • Guest speaker sessions with industry professionals
  • Final showcase with certificate ceremony

Expected Outcomes:

  • 20 participants complete the programme
  • Each produces 3–5 sync-ready tracks
  • At least 5 pitch successfully to sync platforms
  • Strong network of production music specialists established
